Spent yesterday morning at a Viking experience museum in Ribe. The Vikings there are much like York, including getting the children to learn battle techniques, with sticks and shields. We were reminded of York and our grandchildren. Then spent nearly an hour searching for a lost camera, which turrned up in a back pocket that I never use. Glad to have it back. We were just getting ready for visits to police station to report loss for insurance and then to a camera shop to buy a new one. Glad I found it first.
We then sent off in the afternoon against a strong wind. It was just head down and hope you were going slightly faster than walking. A change of direction meant it was more across us ut still hard going. We managed 40km to just beyond Esjberg and then found a nice camp site. Unlike Germany camp sites are well signposted. The two we have been in so far have plugs in the washbasins, a kitchen for cooking, a shop and free hot water. They also have very good children's playgrounds.
What is lacking in Denmark are those nice windmills with tables outside indicating a nice cafe and cakes. Also no signs saying coffee and kuchen (sorry if the spelling is wrrong). And where are the Danish pastries? Not a sign of one yet. But then we never found Swiss rolls in Switzerland but saw some in a baker's here.
Forecast for today is strong wind with rain in the late afternoon.
Here are aa few photos of "the children and the Vikings"
