Norway has its own version of 'what goes up must come down'. Here it is more accurate to say 'what comes down must go up'. Just occasionally there was enough momentum from the down to take you up the next hill but in the end the ups always won.
I shall never, well not often, complain about potholes in England again. I have seen enormous ones here, deep as well as large. You really have to watch it as you gain speed going down hill. there are also large potholes in pavements. They presumably don't have the litigation culture here. Or are better at looking at where they are going.
Some road surfaces of course are excellent and there can only be a short time window to repair roads before the winter.
