In Ribe

Not much to report. The wind was mainly behind us, the gravel paths not too horrendous and we have seen the sun. Ribe is the oldest town of Denmark and was an important port till the river silted up a couple of hundred years ago. Now it is a small town with many old buildings, 2 churches of note and 2 Viking museums, so we will be able to compare the vikings of Denmark and York.

We left the last campsite rather later than intended and were going to have a quick sandwich lunch en route, but the supermarket we passed at lunch time was closed and there was a nice looking pub restaurant next door, so we had a  leisurely lunch there instead.  We only cycled 40km today but our legs seem to be aching more. Tomorrow we spend in Ribe doing the tourist things. We thought we would splash out on a B & B and have ended with a small flat. Very pleasant after a tiny tent.
